A Freethinking Woman

Helen Hamilton Gardener – It is likely that most of you have never heard of her.  No streets, monuments, nor historical markers bear her name. Yet, like so many other unsung agents of change, this turn-of-the-20th century woman made her mark through relentless efforts behind the scenes. Applying her considerable intellect and power of persuasion, Gardener spent a lifetime challenging the male bias in society that denied women their unalienable rights to think for themselves and have a say in the laws that governed them.  Jan Sacco will share Gardener’s remarkable life and legacy.
