A Sure Thing Will Always Let You Down

A Sure Thing Will Always Let You Down- Rev. Steve Edington

Some time ago I offered a sermon on the life and troubadour ministry of the late Rev. Ric Masten. On this Sunday I’ll use one of his poems that he wrote in the wake of his prostate cancer diagnosis to look at how we deal with some of our life situations when the assumptions we had been living by get shaken. I’ll also cite my opinion that faith is actually the ability to live with uncertainty rather than insisting on the “rightness” of one’s beliefs. And I finish up with what I feel it means to meaningfully live in the midst of the sometimes frightening uncertainties we are dealing with as a nation now.
