Like Strangers in a Foreign Land

This Sunday please join us as we welcome Tom Putnam to the pulpit. This week’s service, Like Strangers in a Foreign Land, will have a Thanksgiving theme and briefly examine how the early Puritans, in the words of Reverend Peter Gomes, (who served as the minister for many years of Memorial Church at Harvard and was himself a native of Plymouth, Massachusetts), “saw themselves as the New Israel, heirs of God’s promise to the Jews of the Old Testament.”  We will look back at some of the “origin stories” we learned as children in church and school in order to glean lessons that might inform our response to the challenges our world faces today.
