The sea is so great and my boat is so small

“The sea is so great and my boat is so small” cry out the words of the Breton Fisherman’s Prayer (originally penned by Winfred Ernest Garrison). This service will use the phrase to look back at inspiring moments (and words) in history (from Margaret Chase Smith to Marian Wright Edelman) that I hope might buoy our spirits in these dispiriting times. As this will be my last service of this church year, I will also touch upon our faith writ large and include good wishes for the summer months ahead.
