One of the tenets of Christian Nationalism is that since our Founders, and all of our Presidents, have been Christians then American should be a “Christian Republic” with Biblically-based laws. Yes, our Founders were Christians, albeit of different types, with none of them coming close to being a Christian Nationalist. What I look to do with this sermon is do some reflecting on the religions of three of our Presidents and what it tells us about what I see as a positive role for religion in our national life.
