[History of your congregation and/or history of Unitarian Universalism.]

One hundred years ago, on November 16, 1909, our founding fathers – Louis and Ernest Goodall among them – organized Sanford Unitarian Church in the municipal court house of the new Town Hall.  Nine years later, on November 3, 1918, the Unitarian Meetinghouse was dedicated at Main and Lebanon Streets, its present site.  Since that time, eighteen ministers have led our congregation according to our great covenant: to dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in love, and to help one another.

Commitment to community service, leadership in social justice issues, and responsible earth stewardship are among the tenets that govern our actions.
